What ply lining does
Protects the van
Tools, materials and equipment moving around a bare metal load area dent panels and scratch through paint, and scratched steel is where rust starts. A ply-lined van takes the knocks on the ply instead of the bodywork — which keeps the van in better condition and protects its resale or return value if it’s leased.
Gives you something to fix to
You can’t screw shelving and racking straight into thin van panels and expect it to hold. Ply lining gives you a continuous, solid surface to fix into anywhere, so racking, drawers, hooks and equipment go where you want them and stay put under load. This is why ply lining comes before a racking install rather than after.
Cuts noise and wear
An empty metal load area is loud — every tool and offcut rattles and the whole van drums as you drive. Ply lining takes a lot of that out, making the van quieter and more pleasant to spend the day in. It also gives you a hard-wearing surface that stands up to daily loading and unloading far better than bare metal or a thin factory liner.
What we fit
Wall and door lining
Ply panels cut to fit the van’s walls, wheel arches and door interiors — properly templated to the vehicle rather than rough-cut and forced in. A clean, snug fit looks better, protects more of the panel, and gives you the solid fixing surface across the whole load area.
Floor lining
A ply floor, often finished with a non-slip or hard-wearing top layer, gives you a flat, tough, load-bearing surface to work off. It protects the van floor from heavy kit and wheeled loads, and makes sweeping out and cleaning down at the end of a job far easier. We can fit anti-slip finishes where footing matters.
Full lining and part lining
Some vans want the full treatment — floor, walls and doors. Others just need the floor and lower walls where the wear happens. We’ll fit as much or as little as makes sense for how you use the van, and we can add insulation behind the ply if you want to keep the load area warmer or quieter still.

The difference between a ply lining job that lasts and one that looks rough in a month is in the fit. We template panels to your exact vehicle so they sit tight against the bodywork, follow the curves and wheel arches properly, and don’t leave gaps for kit to fall behind or moisture to sit. Panels are secured so they don’t work loose with the constant vibration of a working van, and finished so the edges aren’t left sharp or catching.

Why ply line a van at all?

For a van you work out of every day, it pays for itself in the condition it keeps the vehicle in.
Should ply lining go in before racking?
Yes. Ply lining gives the racking and storage something solid to fix to, so it’s fitted first as the base layer. If you’re planning a full fit-out, it makes sense to do the lining and the racking together as one job so everything’s planned to work together.
Can you line just the floor?
Yes. Plenty of vans just need a tough ply floor, sometimes with the lower walls done where the wear is. We’ll fit as much or as little as suits how you use the van rather than pushing a full lining you don’t need.
Can you add insulation behind the ply?
We can. If you want the load area warmer or quieter — useful if you’re in and out of the back all day, or carrying anything temperature-sensitive — we can fit insulation behind the ply lining while we’re at it. It’s easiest to do at the same time rather than going back in later.
Will it fit my van properly?
That’s the whole point of doing it properly. We template the panels to your exact make and model so they sit tight to the bodywork and follow the wheel arches and curves, rather than forcing in rough-cut sheets. A proper fit protects more of the van and lasts far longer.
