What we fit
Most trade vans need a handful of the same core accessories. We can fit any combination of the following, either as a one-off or alongside a van racking installation.
Inverters
A properly sized inverter lets you run 240V tools, chargers and equipment from the van’s electrical system — useful for anyone running power tools, test equipment or on-site charging without hauling a generator. We help you size the inverter to what you actually run, wire it in safely with the correct cabling and protection, and position it where it stays cool and accessible.
Split-charge systems and second batteries
If you’re drawing power while the engine’s off — running lights, an inverter, a fridge or charging equipment — you don’t want to flatten the starter battery and get stranded. A split-charge system with a second (auxiliary) battery keeps your work power separate from the vehicle’s starting power, charging the second battery as you drive. We fit voltage-sensitive relays and DC-DC systems to suit the van and the load.
USB points, 12V sockets and charging
Simple, but the things you reach for constantly. Extra USB and USB-C charging points, 12V sockets in the cab and load area, and dedicated charging points for phones, tablets and job-management devices — fitted where you need them rather than where the manufacturer put one socket.
Work lighting and load-area lighting
Factory load-area lighting is usually one dim bulb. We fit bright LED load-area lighting so you can find kit in the dark, plus exterior work lights, awning lights and rear floodlights for anyone working on site into the evening. Switched sensibly so nothing gets left on to drain the battery.
Reversing cameras and dash cameras
A reversing camera makes a blind-backed van far easier and safer to manoeuvre, and a dash camera protects you against disputed claims — worth having on any vehicle that’s out on the road all day. We fit both, wired in cleanly rather than run on trailing wires from the cigarette socket.
Beacons, work switches and extras
Amber beacons and LED light bars for sites that require them, additional switch panels, voltmeters so you can keep an eye on battery condition, and other small electrical extras. If it needs wiring into the van, we can usually help.
Fitted properly, not bodged
The difference between an accessory that lasts and one that becomes a problem is nearly always the wiring behind it. We use correctly rated cable, proper fusing and protection, and secure, tidy routing rather than trailing leads and scotch-lock connectors. Everything is wired so it can be maintained, won’t chafe through and short out, and won’t drain your starter battery overnight. For anyone running a van as part of their livelihood, that reliability is the whole point.
Because we also build commercial van racking and carry out repairs and fault finding, we can plan the electrics around your racking and storage from the start — sockets and lighting where the shelving actually is, not fighting it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you fit an inverter so I can run power tools from my van?
Yes. The key is sizing the inverter to the tools you actually run and pairing it with enough battery capacity and the right charging setup so you’re not flattening the van. We’ll talk through what you use it for and spec it accordingly — there’s no point fitting a huge inverter to a single small battery, and equally no point under-sizing it so it cuts out under load.
Will running accessories flatten my van battery?
Not if it’s set up correctly. For anything you’ll use with the engine off, we fit a second battery with a split-charge system so your work power is kept separate from the starting battery. That way you can run lights, an inverter or charging all day and still start the van at the end of it.
Do you fit accessories at the same time as racking?
Ideally, yes. Fitting the electrics alongside a racking install means we can position sockets, lighting and cameras to work with the shelving rather than around it, and it usually works out tidier and quicker than doing the two jobs separately. If your racking is already fitted, that’s fine too — we’ll work with what’s there.
Can you fit a reversing camera and dash cam?
Yes, both. We wire them in properly to a switched or permanent feed as appropriate, rather than leaving them dangling off the cigarette socket. Reversing cameras make a windowless van much safer to reverse, and a dash cam is cheap insurance against disputed claims when you’re on the road all day.
How long does it take?
It depends on what’s being fitted. A single reversing camera or a set of charging points is usually a same-day job. A full setup — inverter, second battery, split-charge, work lighting and cameras — takes longer, and we’ll give you a clear timeframe when we quote. Everything is by appointment so your van isn’t sitting around waiting.
