Storage is what makes a small space liveable. Get it right and everything has a home, the van stays tidy on the move, and you’re not living out of bags — get it wrong and even a big van feels cramped and cluttered. Campervan storage units and overhead lockers turn the walls, corners and dead space of a conversion into proper cupboards, lockers and shelving. As part of our campervan furniture kits, we’re building CNC-cut storage units and overhead lockers at our Darwen workshop, near Blackburn, designed to fit specific van models and make the most of every awkward inch.
What we build
Overhead lockers
The space above head height along the van’s walls is some of the most underused in a conversion — and it’s ideal for overhead lockers. Enclosed cupboards up high keep clothes, food, bedding and everything you don’t need at floor level off the worktops and out of the way. Designed to follow the curve of the van’s roof line, they add a lot of storage without eating into the space you live in.
Cupboards and wardrobes
Full-height and half-height cupboards for hanging clothes, storing shoes, or housing a portable toilet or gear. Fitted into the ends and corners of the layout where they don’t cost you living space, and designed to work with your kitchen and bed system rather than fighting them.
Shelving and open storage
Not everything wants a door. Open shelving with a lip or rail to keep things put, cubbies for the bits you reach for constantly, and small-item storage that keeps the clutter of daily life organised rather than rolling around the floor.
Designed for how a van actually moves
Storage in a van isn’t like storage in a house — it has to hold everything in place while you’re driving. Catches that keep locker doors shut on corners, positive latches rather than magnets that give way, and lips and rails on open shelving so nothing launches itself across the van when you brake. We design storage that stays closed and stays put, so you open the doors at the campsite to find everything where you left it, not in a heap on the floor.
Cut to your van
The value of storage is fitting it into space that would otherwise be wasted — the curve of the roof, the taper of the walls, the awkward corner by the door. That only works if it’s cut to the van’s actual shape. CNC-cut units are designed to specific van models so lockers follow the roof line and cupboards fit the corners exactly. When the range launches, storage will be offered by van model so the fit is right from the start.
Part of a full kit, or on its own
Storage units work as part of a complete furniture kit alongside your kitchen, bed and seating, or on their own if storage is what your build most needs. And if you’d rather we fitted them, we can, as part of a full or partial conversion at the workshop.
Register your interest
Storage units and overhead lockers aren’t available to order yet, but the range is coming. If they could be part of your conversion, register your interest using the form and we’ll be in touch as soon as they launch — with early access and launch pricing for people on the list. Tell us your van model and what you need to store, and it helps us build the range around what people actually want.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the locker doors stay shut while driving?
Yes — that’s a key part of designing storage for a van rather than a house. We use positive catches and latches that hold the doors shut through corners and braking, so you’re not opening the van to find everything on the floor. Open shelving gets lips and rails for the same reason.
Where do overhead lockers fit?
Along the walls above head height, following the curve of the roof. It’s usually the most underused space in a van, which makes it ideal for lockers — you gain a lot of storage without losing any of the space you actually live and move in.
Can I get storage without the full kit?
Yes. The plan is to offer full kits for a complete interior and individual elements — like storage units and lockers on their own — for people who only need part of the build.
Will it fit my van?
CNC-cut storage is designed to specific van models so lockers follow the roof line and cupboards fit the corners properly. When the range launches it’ll be organised by van model, and registering your interest tells us which models to prioritise.
Can you fit it for me?
Yes. The units are designed for a competent self-builder to assemble, but if you’d rather we installed the storage for you, we can do that as part of a conversion at our Darwen workshop.
Where are you based?
Our workshop is at Unit 15, The Hub, Commercial Rd, Darwen BB3 0FL — a few minutes from Blackburn and just off junction 5 of the M65, easy to reach from across East Lancashire and the North West.
