The kitchen is the heart of most campervan conversions — it’s where the space earns its keep, and it’s usually the hardest part to get right in a self-build. A campervan kitchen unit brings the worktop, sink, hob housing, cupboards and drawers together into one properly designed run that fits your van and makes the most of a tight footprint. As part of our campervan furniture kits, we’re building CNC-cut kitchen units at our Darwen workshop, near Blackburn, cut to fit specific van models rather than forced to work in a space they were never made for.
What a kitchen unit includes
A campervan kitchen unit is more than a worktop with a hole cut in it. Designed properly, it packs a surprising amount into a small run:
- Worktop with a hard-wearing, wipe-clean finish
- Housing and cut-outs for your sink and hob or combination unit
- Cupboards for pots, pans and food storage
- Drawers for cutlery, utensils and the bits you reach for constantly
- Space designed in for a fridge, water container or waste bin
- Cable and pipe routing planned in for electrics and plumbing
Because it’s designed as one unit, everything lines up — the drawers clear the fridge, the cupboard doors open past the hob, the worktop sits at a usable height. That’s the difference between a kitchen that works every day and one you’re always working around.
Cut to your van, not a standard size
Van interiors are full of curves, wheel arches and awkward angles, and a kitchen run has to work around all of them. A standard flat-pack unit ignores that and leaves you with gaps, wasted space and a lot of filling-in to do. A CNC-cut unit is designed to the van’s actual dimensions, so it follows the wall, clears the wheel arch and uses the full length available. The panels are machine-cut to that design, so the fit is precise and the finish is clean.
When the range launches, kitchen units will be offered by van model — so a unit designed for a VW Transporter fits a Transporter, and one for a Ducato fits a Ducato, without the guesswork.
Part of a full kit, or on its own
A kitchen unit works as part of a complete furniture kit alongside your bed system, storage and lockers and seating — all designed to fit together — or as a standalone unit if the kitchen is the part of your build you most want done right. And if you’d rather we fitted it, we can, as part of a full or partial conversion at the workshop.

Will the kitchen fit my van?
That’s the whole idea of CNC-cut units — they’re designed to specific van models so they follow the walls and wheel arches and use the space properly, rather than being a standard size forced to fit. When the range launches it’ll be organised by van model, and registering your interest tells us which models to prioritise.
Does it come with the sink and hob?
The unit is designed with the housing and cut-outs for your sink and hob or combination unit. We’ll confirm exactly what’s included and what you supply when the range launches — the aim is to make it as straightforward as possible to get from kit to working kitchen.
Can I get just the kitchen, or do I need the full kit?
Just the kitchen is fine. The plan is to offer full kits for a complete interior and individual elements — like the kitchen on its own — for people who only need part of the build.
Can you fit it for me?
Yes. The units are designed so a competent self-builder can assemble them, but if you’d rather we installed the kitchen for you, we can do that as part of a conversion at our Darwen workshop.
